The Solis Handpan – D Minor | 9, 10 & 12 Notes

The Solis Handpan

Warm in Character. Rich in Resonance.

The Sonara Solis pairs a warm bronze finish with the deep, expressive character of D Minor. Designed around responsiveness and natural harmonic balance, it invites an intuitive style of playing where rhythm and melody develop effortlessly beneath the hands.

Its carefully formed stainless steel shell produces a resonant, sustained voice with enough presence for musical performance while retaining the warmth and subtlety sought after for quieter, contemplative sessions.

From your first pattern to more developed compositions, the Solis is designed to offer an instrument you can continue exploring as your playing evolves.

Premium Stainless Steel Construction

The Solis is crafted from carefully selected stainless steel, chosen for its acoustic properties, durability, and resistance to corrosion.

Each shell is precisely formed and finished to encourage consistent vibration across the playing surface, contributing to clear note articulation, controlled sustain, and rich resonance.

Its distinctive warm bronze finish gives the Solis an unmistakable visual character without compromising the tactile playing experience.

Tuned in D Minor

The Solis is tuned in D Minor, a widely appreciated handpan scale known for its deep and expressive tonal character.

The notes naturally complement one another, making it possible to move between melodic phrases, rhythmic patterns, and spontaneous improvisation with remarkable fluidity.

For newer players, that harmonic relationship makes the instrument approachable. For experienced musicians, it creates a foundation for increasingly nuanced compositions.

Choose Your Note Configuration

9 Notes — Intuitive & Focused
An accessible layout that encourages simple, fluid playing. Particularly well suited to beginners, meditation, and players who prefer a focused tonal palette.

10 Notes — Balanced & Versatile
Additional melodic range while maintaining an intuitive playing surface. A versatile choice for players looking to develop their musical vocabulary.

12 Notes — Expanded Expression
A broader tonal range for more elaborate melodies, transitions, and compositions. Designed for players who want greater creative freedom from a single instrument.

Precision Tuning

Each Solis is carefully tuned to achieve clear fundamentals, balanced harmonics, and consistent relationships between notes.

Rather than treating each tone field as an isolated note, the instrument is balanced as a complete musical system. This allows individual notes to resonate naturally together and gives the handpan its cohesive character.

432 Hz Option

Selected configurations are available in 432 Hz tuning, offering a slightly lower overall pitch than standard 440 Hz concert tuning.

432 Hz is particularly popular among players using the handpan for solo playing, meditation, yoga, and sound-based wellness practices.
