Description
The Azure Handpan
Deep Tones. Effortless Expression.
The Sonara Azure was created for players drawn to deeper, more contemplative soundscapes. Its stainless steel construction, carefully shaped tone fields, and expressive D Kurd scale create an instrument that feels intuitive from the first touch while offering enough musical depth to grow with your playing.
From slow, meditative sequences to layered rhythms and melodic improvisation, each note is designed to blend naturally with the next—letting you focus less on technique and more on the music itself.
Premium Stainless Steel Construction
The Azure is crafted from high-quality stainless steel, selected for its resonance, projection, tuning stability, and long-term durability.
Its smooth satin surface provides a refined tactile feel, while a protective treatment helps improve resistance to corrosion and everyday wear.
D Kurd Scale
Available in D Kurd, one of the most recognized and versatile handpan scales.
Its combination of deep lower tones and expressive melodic notes creates a warm, balanced sound with a naturally introspective character. The scale lends itself particularly well to intuitive improvisation, while offering experienced players plenty of room to develop more intricate rhythmic and melodic patterns.
Choose Your Configuration
9 Notes — Pure & Intuitive
A focused layout that keeps playing simple and instinctive. Ideal for discovering the handpan, meditation, and minimalist compositions.
10 Notes — Versatile & Expressive
An expanded configuration offering greater melodic freedom without sacrificing the intuitive nature of the instrument.
12 Notes — Extended Melodic Range
Designed for players looking for a broader musical vocabulary, with additional notes for more developed melodies, transitions, and compositions.
432 Hz or 440 Hz
The Azure is available in two tuning frequencies:
440 Hz — Standard Tuning
The international concert-pitch standard and the preferred choice when playing alongside most modern instruments.
432 Hz — Alternative Tuning
An alternative tuning option favored by some solo players and practitioners for its slightly lower overall pitch.
