Description
The Aura Handpan
Where Movement Meets Sound
The Sonara Aura is defined by a surface that seems almost in motion. Its warm golden finish radiates outward from the center, creating subtle variations in texture and reflection that make every angle feel different.
Beneath that distinctive appearance lies an expressive D Kurd handpan, designed around intuitive note relationships, rich resonance, and a responsive playing experience.
From quiet improvisation to more developed rhythmic sequences, the Aura invites you to explore without forcing the music.
Carefully Crafted Steel Construction
The Aura features a carefully formed steel shell, engineered to provide the structural stability and acoustic response required from a quality handpan.
Its playing surface responds to subtle fingertip articulation while allowing notes to develop with clarity and sustain.
The distinctive brushed golden finish completes the instrument with an organic appearance that feels less manufactured and more individual.
D Kurd Scale
The Aura is tuned in D Kurd, one of the most versatile scales in the handpan world.
Its minor character creates a deep, expressive foundation, while the relationship between its notes makes improvisation remarkably intuitive.
You don't need to approach the Aura through conventional music theory. Rhythmic patterns and melodic phrases can emerge naturally through exploration, making D Kurd accessible to newer players while retaining enough musical depth for experienced hands.
Choose Your Configuration
9 Notes — Focused & Intuitive
A clean, accessible layout with everything needed to explore rhythm, melody, and dynamics without unnecessary complexity.
10 Notes — Greater Melodic Freedom
Adds another tonal possibility while retaining the natural flow of the D Kurd layout. A versatile choice for players who want additional room to develop.
Tuned to 432 Hz
The Aura is available in 432 Hz, a slightly lower reference pitch than the contemporary 440 Hz concert standard.
This tuning is particularly popular for solo handpan playing, meditation, yoga, relaxation, and immersive listening environments.
If you intend to play regularly alongside other musicians, remember that instruments using different reference pitches may not sound properly in tune together.

Designed to Grow With Your Playing
The Aura's approachable layout makes it suitable for players discovering the handpan, but its purpose goes well beyond the first few sessions.
Explore dynamics. Build rhythmic patterns. Layer melodies. Leave space between notes. As your touch becomes more controlled, the instrument reveals increasingly subtle variations in articulation and resonance.
Its versatility makes the Aura suitable for personal practice, improvisation, meditation, yoga, relaxation, sound-based wellness sessions, and musical performance.
The Sonara Aura is designed to make exploration feel natural—and give you a reason to keep coming back to the instrument.
